Get ready to thrive as you learn to successfully communicate in English in any environment including social, academic, or professional. If you are searching for a school in the United States with ESL classes (and availability!) you have come to the right place!
How to Learn ESL
How exactly do you go about learning English as a second Language? It’s much more than simply memorizing vocabulary and learning phrases, although these elements are part of ESL classes. Our English programs involve textbooks and study yes, but you’ll also be experiencing English. You’ll learn to write, read, and speak in English through your classes as well as activities and the friendships you’ll make. We host a number of student events like International Day and celebrating traditional American holidays to give you opportunities to use your new skills and learn from others. We know how to have fun while learning English as a second language, that’s for sure!
Activities for ESL Students
It’s our goal to get you speaking English like a native speaker…with confidence! As we said, we are all about experiencing English as you learn the language! Check out what we did back on Valentine’s Day where we played games with vocabulary. Games are a great way to learn English as a second language, and we use lots of them in the classroom. Even board games are a great activity for learning. We encourage students to get out in Dallas and experience the city – talking with native speakers is a great activity. And that leads us to our recommendations for practicing your English skills.
How to Practice Your English Skills
Classroom study is only part of your commitment to learning English. You’ll need to do quite a bit of practice on your own to become fluent. Don’t worry – that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to carry your textbook everywhere! Some of the best ways to learn a language, other than speaking and practicing your pronunciation – is to consume things in the language! Listen to English by watching movies or a favorite TV show. You can pick up a book or a magazine right at your level too. Here are some ideas on where to start. Even ordering food in English at a local restaurant can be considered practice. And we’re a little biased, but Dallas is a fantastic city in which to learn English!
